Richie Sherman is an award-winning independent filmmaker. He has shot more than 50 short films and seven feature-length films, including "The Guatemalan Handshake" (2006) and "SquidMan" (2012). He is also an associate professor of film at Penn State University. His short films have been juried into competitive film festivals, including the Kurz International Film Festival in Hamburg, Germany, the Filmstock Film Festival in Luton, England, and the Ann Arbor Film Festival in Michigan. He is a past recipient of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Artists Fellowship and the Ohio Arts Council Individual Artists Fellowship.
